Coconino Community College's 2012 Commencement honors founding members
College celebrates 20 years of quality higher education

FLAGSTAFF, Ariz.- On May 11, Coconino Community College (CCC) hosted its 2012 Commencement Ceremony to celebrate this years graduating class of 321 students.

Approximately 600 faculty, staff, family and community members attended the graduation to observe the conferring of degrees. The ceremony also paid tribute to CCC's 20th anniversary and feature a special presentation to honor the college's founders.

A special address from CCC President Leah Bornstein recognized the hard work and dedication of the founding members who overcame adversity to provide local residents affordable higher education within the county. Because of their efforts, CCC has served more than 65,000 local learners to date.

During the address, founding board member Paul Neuman, founding steering committee member Patty Odgers-Gibson and family members of late founding steering committee member John Cavanaugh accepted a commemorative plaque on behalf of the other founding members.

Coconino Community College (CCC) is an educational institution based in Flagstaff, Ariz. that provides more than 60 certificate programs and two-year degrees in various fields including nursing, fire science, law enforcement and child development. Established in 1991, CCC has served the residents of Coconino County for more than 20 years, and has helped create the region's skilled workforce, which is improving the overall health and safety of the community.
