Memorial services for Buford B. Belgard will be held at the Shrine of the Ages Chapel at Grand Canyon on Saturday, Oct. 24, 2009 at 2 p.m. Graveside services will be held at the Grand Canyon Cemetery immediately following the memorial. The Masonic Lodge No. 40 and the American Legion, John Ivens Post No. 42 will present the graveside services.

Buford spent the years 1940 to 1975 at Grand Canyon, (except for his Army Air Force years) with Myra, joining him as his bride in 1941. He worked for the Fred Harvey/Amfac Company for 39 years. They were both active in the community of Grand Canyon putting many hours in to community activities and organizations.

Their two daughters, Karen and Rebecca, were born and raised at Grand Canyon, attending school all the 13 years from kindergarten through high school there. They were both very active in the community of Grand Canyon.

They moved to Williams where they owned and operated the Gateway Cleaners from 1975 until 1993. They served the Williams community and enjoyed their home in Williams.

The Belgards enjoyed 67 and a half years of marriage. Myra Mae preceded Buford in death on Oct. 20, 2008. Buford and Myra Mae Belgard will be buried together.

A reception after the services will be held at the Canyon Plaza Resort in Tusayan from 4-6 p.m.

The family wishes to thank family and friends for their condolences and support during this sad time. In lieu of flowers, if you so desire, please donate to the Williams Methodist Church, 127 W. Sherman Ave., Williams, AZ 86046 or to an organization or charity of your choice in Buford's memory.

Funeral arrangements were made through the Norvel Owens Mortuary in Flagstaff. Condolences may be sent to the family at
