PlaceThe Compound Grill
Address7000 E. Mayo Blvd., Phoenix, AZ
DetailsThe Festival took off in April of 2004 as an endeavor to bring real music back to Arizona while getting the community together for a great cause: our children. Each year, the festival brings together a number of bands from a wide variety of genres from all over the world to Arizona. The Festival takes place on April 13-15, 2012 in north Phoenix, Arizona. If you have never been to a music festival, come to ours. Experience the spirit that is cultivated when people join together and have a good time. Bring your kids. Make some friends. There is a silent auction/raffle, marketplace, drum circle, acoustic stage, Kid’s Zone and more. Be a part of helping to give back to the community – all proceeds, yes 100%, raised from the Festival are donated to two charities – Phoenix Children’s Hospital and Ear Candy. MISSION STATEMENT
The McDowell Mountain Music Festival exists to integrate and support the community, the arts and the underprivileged. PURPOSE STATEMENT To connect the community through a festival gathering
including music, arts and food. To entertain the community, companies and their employees. To educate the underprivileged. To support the arts in an effort that they may grow
and exist for future generations to enjoy. To provide financial support & education to family based charities
in an effort to provide equitable advancement for the underprivileged. CHARITIES It is a great feeling leaning up against the edge of the stage, staring up at your favorite band and enjoying every minute of the performance, but it is an even greater feeling knowing that the proceeds from your ticket will be helping kids in our community! It truly is a gift that keeps on giving, and Phoenix Children's Hospital and Ear Candy appreciate the true music fans that support the Festival and its mission to inspire, connect and support the community. Phoenix Children’s Hospital, ranked in U.S. News & World Report’s Best Children’s Hospitals, is Arizona’s only licensed children’s hospital, providing world-class care in more than 40 pediatric specialties to children from throughout the state and region. Phoenix Children’s is in the midst of a major expansion to meet the needs of the Southwest’s rapid population growth. The signature element of the expansion is a new 11-story, 750,000-square-foot tower which will enable the hospital to grow from 465 licensed beds today to a total of 626 licensed beds at full build-out. The hospital’s expansion also includes an aggressive physician recruitment effort and new satellite centers in high growth areas of the Valley. For more information, visit the hospital’s web site at www.phoenixchildrens.com Ear Candy Charity is based in Phoenix, AZ and our mission is to provide Youth Access to Music Education. Arizona is currently 49th out of 50 states in per person education funding and over half of the schools in the state do not have a budget for arts and music programming. Ear Candy fulfills its mission through Instrument Drives®, BackStage Class® field trips and Community Partnerships and have helped over 30,000 youth since 2008. The organization’s goal is to Equip youth with the instruments they need to participate in a music program, Enlighten youth by sharing the vast benefits of a life rich in music. Empower youth to develop into culturally enlightened members of society. www.earcandycharity.org
