Tusayan special election set for May 15
Informational pamphlet arguments 'for' and 'against' Referendums and Initiative accepted through Jan. 27

TUSAYAN, Ariz. - A special election will be held May 15 for the community of Tusayan to consider five Referendums and an Initative. The election will be conducted as a polling place election with the polling location at The Grand Hotel.

Arguments "for" and "against" the ballot questions are being requested by town officials for inclusion in the informational pamphlet. Any interested citizen or group may submit an argument. This pamphlet will be mailed to all registered households within the proposed boundaries.

Each argument must be 300 words or less and may be typed or handwritten. The argument must include the author's name, original signature, address and telephone number (address and phone number will not appear in the mailed informational pamphlet). A fee of $100 for paper submissions or $75 for a submission on compact disc (CD) is due and payable at the time of filing. A printed copy of the argument must be filed with the CD to comply with the original signature(s) requirement.

Arguments must be received by 5 p.m. on Jan. 27 at the Town of Tusayan office at the Grand Canyon Airport. The mailing address is P.O. Box 709, Grand Canyon, AZ; 86023. The physical address is 3568 Airport Road, Tusayan, Arizona.
