Cowboy tunes, rope tricks this Friday at Shrine of ages
Staff Report
Grand Canyon News

GRAND CANYON, Ariz. - November's Artist in Residence Randy Erwin will present an entertaining evening of music and rope tricks this Friday at the Shrine of Ages. The event will begin at 7:30 p.m.

Erwin, from Springfield, Illinois, plans to capture ambient sounds of the Grand Canyon, which he will combine with his own music later. Friday night's event is free to the public and open to all ages.

The National Park Service's Artist in Residence program offers artists of all genres the opportunity to live for three weeks on either the North Rim (depending on the season) or on the South Rim, which is open year round. The residency provides quality, focused time for artists to pursue their own projects.

In return for their stay, the artists provide three outreach programs for the local community and visitors to the park. For more information go online to www.nps.gov/grca/supportyourpark/air.htm.
